The SEO landscape continues to change and evolve year-on-year without fail, but nobody really knows what’s coming next from the big search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing.
Below is a great infographic which was created by the guys over at Red Website Design which, funnily enough, was inspired by a post by the agency where I used to work. Pretty crazy!
I agree with most of the predictions in the infographic, although I feel a little too much emphasis is being added on a couple of them – social and content, actually. #7 made me laugh out loud, that’s very silly.
2015 SEO Predictions from Marty
For me, I think that 2015 will see Google further improving in their battle against SPAMMY websites and website owners who utilise black hat tactics to rank well in search.
I don’t think we’ll see another PR (PageRank) update – that metric is done, or at least the toolbar version is anyway. I think we’ll see the HTTPS (security certificate) indicator given a little more weight, and a little more focus around mobile friendly sites.
As for social signals, I personally don’t think this area will improve greatly in 2015.
Content and links will continue to work hand-in-hand to deliver the most successful SEO campaigns on the web, and SPAMMY sites will be punished quicker than before.
